7VEN win another pre-season away test thanks to a Lewis Boylen brace and other goals from Jack Stonehouse, Patrick Mulvey, Jack Gibson and Ben Relton.

7VEN got things underway, trying a new 4-2-3-1 formation, Boylen fired in the opener into the bottom corner, playing a different advanced right midfield role after a pass from Stonehouse in the 8th minute.

Mulvey was the provider for Boylen's second, a similar to his second which was blasted into the same corner after just 17 minutes.

A minute later, 7VEN won a free kick on the right side of the pitch, Stonehouse stepped up to take it and whipped it into the back post, which hit off the underside of the bar, into the post and in the back of the net. 3-0.

In the 31st minute, Wingate got a goal back, a bit of a goal-mouth scramble after a loose ball back to Adam Linsel. The 7VEN keeper could not really clear it and the ball ended up in after falling to a Wingate man.

After halftime, Boylen added an assist to his two goals, playing the ball into Mulvey whose effort almost broke the net to make it 4-1.

The fifth goal was scored by Jack Gibson, who was playing on trial in this game, he dribbled up from left back to slot it into the bottom left, earning himself a place in the squad permanently.

Wingate got their second of the game in the 81st minute, their forward was played through over the top and he only had the keeper to beat, which he did, placing the ball into the bottom corner.

But three minutes later, 7VEN got their final goal of the game to finish the scoring on 6-2, Harrison Smith took the ball to the byline and squared it across goal, Ben Relton was there to tap it in with a lovely back heel.

Another positive pre-season game with some beautiful football played at times, the Heatwave Tanning Man Of The Match was awarded to Ollie Taylor in the midfield who had a terrific game in the midfield.

Attention now turns to HUSC Wednesday, next week home at Brierton, UT7.
