7VEN well beaten by a tenacious Throston Wanderers side in a windy affair at King George's.

After a bright start to the game from 7VEN, fortunes were quickly changed after Throston were awarded a penalty in the 12th minute, however it was blazed over the bar.

Adam Linsel made a spectacular double save to deny the Throston opener a minute later.

However, his efforts were left in the mud when Kyle Morris' shot from range went in past him to open the scoring in the 17th minute on Sunday morning.

A minute later and it was 2-0 to the home side, a ball over the top was missed by Ollie Burrows and the number 9 was played through on goal and slotted the chance away.

After a change of shape, 7VEN grew into the game a little more but could not produce a real effort on goal.

Straight away after halftime, Adam Thompson fouled Craig Hutchinson inside of the area and Throston were awarded a second penalty, this time Hutchinson stepped up and made no mistake to make it 3-0.

7VEN looked like a defeated side and it was made worse in the 68th minute when Hutchinson was played through and rounded the ball past Linsel to slot it into the empty net.

Disaster struck for the fifth time in the 84th minute with a chipped goal after Linsel came rushing out of his net.

A bad day at the office for 7VEN who fail to find a win now in five games, hopefully a better showing next week. The HEATWAVE Man of The Match goes to Harrison Smith for a good showing upfront, despite the scoreline.
