7VEN remain top of the table after a well-contested 1-1 with Throston at King George's.

Harvey Hope had a very early chance to fire 7VEN into the lead, but could only win a corner after a good stop by the Throston keeper; the resulting corner fell to nothing.

7VEN kept the pressure up, and in the 10th minute, Hope won the ball and found Jack Stonehouse in the box. The Throston defender made a good challenge, but the referee waved away shouts for a penalty.

In the 25th minute, Jack Weegram delivered a long throw into the box, which hit off the crossbar and then went into the back of the net off the defender. However, the referee deemed it to have already crossed the line and denied a fair goal.

Two minutes later, Throston took the lead when a cross was not cleared and fell out wide, a low delivery then found Joe Brownless, who made it 1-0 with a simple finish.

7VEN went into the break feeling harshly done to, but also on the back of a good performance against a good team.

In the 55th minute, 7VEN found themselves level! Stonehouse picked out Michael Snowdon with a superb free kick from the right-hand side, and the Number 7 headed it home perfectly.

That was the last real action of the second half; both sides were very equal throughout, and the point seemed like the fairest result.

Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Olly Burrows for another fine display in the back three and linking up well with the midfield. UT7.
