7VEN just missed out on the win in an entertaining 4-3 loss to Tech away at John Howard Park.

In the opening 20 minutes, 7VEN looked the better side, creating more chances and the best one game through Barry Milligan who got on the end of a deep cross just before the keeper but headed wide of the mark in the 8th minute.
However, it was Tech who opened the scoring at the 23-minute mark, against the run of play, Ste Chapman got on the end of a low ball into the box and slid it home at the far post.
Just before halftime, they doubled their lead, the number 14 was played through and finished well, Adam Linsel did get a hand to it but it managed to find its way into the back of the net.
After half time, 7VEN came out sharp and Aidan Lamb played a great cross to Joe Cockrill at the back post but he headed wide to deny a 7VEN opener in the 47th minute.
A minute later Tech found themselves down to ten men, Rhys Morris kicked the ball away to receive a yellow card and refused to go to the referee to receive the booking, meaning he was sent off.
With a newfound boost in the game, 7VEN finally got a goal in the 51st minute, Lewis Boylen worked hard to win the ball high up the pitch. It came to him in the air and he leapt up meeting with the keeper and squeezed it in, the keeper came out worse and had to receive some treatment before needing to be replaced.
After some changes, the momentum was in favour of the away team and Michael Connolly, on his second debut for the club came off the bench to find the equaliser in the 60th minute.
He produced some tricky footwork to create space and played a one-two with Josh Daley who played him through one-on-one and it was a simple finish, a well-worked goal.
James Hogan almost scored a great goal off the bench, it came to him on the edge of the area and he hit a looped shot that almost flew into the top corner.
The comeback took a hit in the 80th minute as Boylen took down his man inside the area and the referee awarded the home side a penalty, which was then converted.
But Ollie Taylor, making his debut on the pitch, played an inch-perfect defence-splitting pass into the path off of Lamb in the 85th minute, who made no mistake to slot his first goal of the season away.
Again, 7VEN failed to capitalise on their momentum, and just a minute later Tech found what would be the winner in the game.
They whipped in a freekick into the area which was played across goal and put away to make it 4-3, in what would be the final real action of the game.
On another day 7VEN would have claimed all three points but a few mistakes cost us the game, Daley Clarke earns himself the Heatwave Man Of The Match award after a impressive display at the back. UT7.
