7VEN conceded late to lose to Sunderland South in the third friendly of the 2025/26 pre-season.

It did not take long for 7VEN to open up the scoring, as Adam Linsel played a superb long goalkick that found Robbie Lithgo.
The new signing then squared it into the box that ricocheted off the defender, but Jamie Jobson was there to make sure it went into the back of the net.
After the water break halfway through the opening 45, Sunderland South came out all guns blazing and quickly found an equaliser in the 30th minute as they headed home from a corner.
In the 38th minute, the home side found themselves in front for the first time in the game. The Jolly Potters' forward was played through the defence and only had Linsel to beat, which he did.
In what was virtually the last kick of the first half, Sunderland South made it 3-1. Again the defence was split open with a pass, but this time Linsel came out to meet the attacker, the number 2 rounded the 7VEN keeper and slotted it into the empty net.
After a change in shape, 7VEN grew back into the game throughout the second half, but it was not until the 83rd minute that the hard work resulted in a goal.
Ben Relton laid off Jobson, who then dribbled his way through past two defenders and then only had the goalkeeper to beat, which he did, slotting it into the bottom corner for his ninth goal in three games.
Just a minute later, Lithgo scored his first goal for the club as he picked the ball up and smacked it in from just outside the area to make it 3-3 in the game.
However, just as the scoreline was looking like a draw, Sunderland South found a last chance to break through and did with a strike that Linsel could have done better with.
Plenty of positives to take on a warm Sunday afternoon, getting back into it after going two goals down. Heatwave Tanning MOTM awarded to Robbie Lithgo after a goal and assist on his debut. UT7.
