Match Report: St Francis 7VEN 8-2 FC Hartlepool

St Francis 7VEN kick off Hartlepool Sunday Football League Premier League season with three points against FC Hartlepool.

After 16 minutes, the deadlock was broken; Michael Connolly produced a lovely touch and played a superb ball through to Harvey Hope.

7VEN's number 9 then squared it to Jamie Jobson, who smashed it into the roof of the net to open the scoring for the 2026/27 campaign.

Four minutes later, it was 2-0; Michael Snowdon latched onto a loose header back and scored with a beautiful improvised finish.

7VEN made it 3-0 at the 30-minute mark; Ben Crawford and Hope connected down the right-hand side, and Crawford finished the move off.

The goals kept coming, and 37 minutes Snowdon played a low cross into the box which found Hope, who put it away.

On the stroke of half-time, 7VEN made it 5-0. Snowdon played in a corner which was won by Olly Burrows; the skipper's header was initially saved, but the rebound fell to him kindly, and he buried it home.

Five minutes after the break, it was 6-0. Connolly laid off a free kick to Burrows, and he drilled the strike into the bottom corner.

FC Hartlepool got a goal back in the 60th minute, a tame effort managed to sneak in through the gloves of stand-in keeper Elliott Campbell.

In the 65th minute, FC got another back; a ball was played in from the left and headed away at the back post.

However, 7VEN let that go, and Harrison Waite, off the bench, played a defence-splitting pass through to Paddy Mulvey, who had a simple finish in the 78th minute to make it 7-2.

In what was the last kick of the game, Michael Stamp got his first goal for the club as Jobson played him through; he got round his man well and dispatched his effort into the bottom corner.

Fantastic way to start the new campaign, the Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Jordan Lee for a stellar debut at left-back. UT7.
