7VEN make it back-to-back defeats in the Hartlepool Sunday Football League Premier League.

After losing last week to 3 Lions, 7VEN were hunting for a good start to this game on Sunday morning.

But that did not come as Headland found themselves in front just 10 minutes into the game, Danny Lloyd headed home from a corner.

And like that, it was 2-0 to the home side, the number 8 found the ball on the edge of the box, shot from range and wrong-footed Elliott Campbell in goal with a bobble in the ground.

However, in the 23rd minute, Jack Gibson played a perfect cross to the far post that found Lewis Boylen who gave 7VEN a lifeline to get back into the game.

Campbell made a great stop, low with his foot, to deny a third for the Headland in the 36th minute.

After a change at the break, 7VEN came out firing and Gibson opened his account for the season as he won the ball back high up the pitch and burrowed it into the bottom corner to equalise in the 49th minute.

The stalemate lasted just three minutes as Headland made it 3-2, the ball was failed to be cleared and number 8 eventually fired it home.

Headland then doubled their lead in the 74th minute, the forward was played through on goal and then curled it into the bottom corner.

7VEN did find another goal in the 88th minute through Joe Cockerill, off the bench, he got on the end of a poor clearance to slot it home.

But it was too little, too late and the Headland walked away with all three points, a side who showed more commitment and desire over the full 90 minutes.

Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Jack Gibson, a goal and an assist, overall a solid game, the lad can whip in a cross. UT7.
