7VEN return to winning ways thanks to a Jamie Jobson penalty and a sensational effort from Michael Connolly in the OrangeBox Champions League.

7VEN took control of the game from the off, having the majority of the chances and really testing the defence of FC Hartlepool's Sunday Team.

The opener came in the 24th minute as a ball was played into the box and Jobson was fouled, he stepped up and made no mistake so slot it into the bottom corner.

FC had their chances at goal also as Elliott Campbell was equal to an ambitious effort as he tipped it over the bar in the 27th minute.

The first half was a battle in the midfield with no side finding a way through and getting a goal.

In the second half, it was FC who should have equalised in the 72nd minute as Josh Brison played a loose ball across the defence that played in one of the home side's forwards Campbell came out and made a great stop to deny, it fell to another FC player who dragged his chance wide.

That was only their real action throughout the match and 7VEN had a lot of control, winning second balls, aerial duals and overall being the better side.

Chasing an equaliser, FC's keeper was up for a corner but the ball was cleared out to Connolly who beat his defender and scored into the empty net from some distance.

A win after eight games without one was well-needed for 7VEN who came out as deserved victors. Attention now turns to Sunday as the Terracers face the same opponent this time in a Premier League fixture. UT7.
