7VEN bow out of County Cup in the Round of 16, in a cold and scrappy affair on Sunday morning.

Easington Lane had a couple of early chances to make it 1-0 in the first half, but couldn't find the target.

Adam Linsel, who had a superb game in goal for 7VEN was equal to every effort asked of him to help see his side into the second half with the score level.

The second half was more of the same with 7VEN very wasteful in possession and the home side looking more determined.

In the 70th minute, Easington Lane took the lead, Patrick Mulvey fouled his man inside the box, and the referee had no choice but to point to the spot and it was converted by the number 4, despite Linsel getting a hand to it.

It did not wake up 7VEN, who still looked like they would never score in the game.

In the 87th minute, Easington made it 2-0, the number 7 worked his way inside and played through 22, who made no mistake one-on-one and gave his side a much-needed second goal.

However, two minutes later, Mulvey played a challenging ball into the box which was turned into his own net by the number 4.

It was too little too late and there wasn't enough time to find an equaliser, meaning Easington Lane was the side that advanced into the County Cup quarter-finals.

Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Adam Linsel, who made the scoreline look much less embarrassing with an almost flawless game between the sticks.
