Pre-season ends in a draw as Harvey Hope (2), Robbie Lithgo and Jack Stonehouse score in a tough test.

It took six minutes for the deadlock to be broken, and it was Harvey Hope who did it, slotting away his sixth goal of pre-season into the near post after Robbie Lithgo won the ball high up the pitch and played him through.

Five minutes later, Boldon equalised, as Jolas Sutherland was played through down the left and finished at the near post.

The goals kept coming in the first half, Lithgo fired 7VEN back into the lead. His initial shot hit the defender, but it fell kindly for him, and he smashed it away on the volley.

In the 29th minute, Boldon equalised once again, and Sutherland picked up his second of the game as he was played through one-on-one and made no mistake.

Into the second half, it took a little while for any more real action to unfold, but in the 63rd minute, Sutherland completed his hat-trick after getting on the end of a quick Boldon counterattack to take Boldon into the lead.

In the 83rd minute, Hope was fouled in the box and Jack Stonehouse stepped up to dispatch the penalty, netting his first goal of the campaign.

The goals did not stop for Sutherland, who got his fourth of the morning as he picked out the bottom corner with a lovely finish in the 87th minute to once again take Boldon to a winning position.

Two minutes later, in what was the final action of the game, Hope latched on to a loose touch by the Boldon defence and slotted the ball through the oncoming keeper's legs to equalise in the dying embers.

Heatwave Tanning Man of the Match awarded to Ollie Watt, whose defensive contributions were key in keeping the score down; he also scored a beautiful goal, which was flagged for offside.

A good test against a top side to see out pre-season, with focus on 3 Lion in the first taste of Hartlepool Sunday Football League Premier League next week. UT7.
