7VEN claim all three points in the Hartlepool Sunday League despite a first half comeback from FC Hartlepool Sunday Team

It did not take long for the deadlock to be broken as Michael Snowdon latched on to some lazy defending and fired in the opener just three minutes in.

Michael Connolly soon made it 2-0 as the keeper failed to clear his lines properly, the 7VEN number 14 beat some defenders and then eventually curled it in.

Five minutes later, FC got a goal back through their number 6, who found the top corner perfectly with a great strike.

From a goal kick by Adam Linsel, Liam Grieveson won the flick on to play Harrison Smith down the right hand side, he whipped in a perfect ball across the face of goal which found Connolly who headed home for his second and 7VEN's third in the 28th minute.

However, FC got another goal back in the 42nd minute, the defence failed to clear the ball and it fell to an attacker who made it 3-2.

Just before halftime FC levelled it, Robbie Lithgo was played through on the left hand side, came inside and beat Linsel at the near post.

Into the second half, FC Hartlepool had the momentum and got in front for the first time on Sunday morning as Owen McKenna was found at the back post and had a simple finish in the 60th minute.

But they weren't in front for long as just three minutes later 7VEN equalised through Olly Burrows, a free kick was played in by Jack Stonehouse and the defender headed home.

Two minutes after that, the referee awarded FC a penalty after a foul by Ollie Watt in the box, however Linsel dived low to his right and made the save. Three penalty saves now for the season.

This gave the home side the push they needed and in the 74th minute the Terracers were back in front, Snowdon beat his man down the left, found Stonehouse who managed to squeeze it in.

Quickly the lead was strengthened through Smith, the keeper played it straight to Connolly who squared it to Smith who had a simple finish to make it 6-4.

The goals did not stop there, in the 80th minute Stonehouse got his second of the game, a failed back pass fell to Connolly who pinched the ball and squared it to the number 99 for another simple goal.

Grieveson's fine afternoon in the midfield was rewarded with the last goal of the morning as he headed home a Connolly corner to finish the scoring at 8-4.

Definitely one for the neutrals, Heatwave Tanning MOTM awarded to Liam Grieveson for a tough shift in midfield and a goal. UT7.
