7VEN continue stellar pre-season form with an 8-0 thrashing of Rhyope CW in which Jamie Jobson scored a hat-trick.

7VEN dominated the first half, having a lot of the ball and creating so many chances, but the finishing was less to be desired.

In the 30th minute, the deadlock was finally broken as Olly Burrows played an inch-perfect ball over the top of the defence, which found Michael Snowdon, who took down the ball beautifully and finished from a tight angle.

That was the only real piece of action in the first half, with 7VEN going into the break feeling the scoreline flattered the travelling side.

The second goal came through Patrick Mulvey in the 58th minute, Jack Stonehouse and the right wing-back connected well and his weak-footed effort was helped in by the goalkeeper.

With the floodgates well and truly opened up, the third goal came just five minutes later. Craig Altringham played a defence-splitting pass, Harvey Hope, on his debut, rounded both the defender and the oncoming goalkeeper to place the ball into the empty net.

Hope doubles his scoring two minutes later, the ball fell to him nicely after some questionable defending, and it was an easy finish for him.

In the 70th minute, it was 5-0. Burrows played a short corner to Jobson, and the 7VEN forward curled the ball perfectly to the far corner from a tricky angle.

Burrows should have scored in the 78th minute as he shanked the ball from a corner, it did fall to Jobson, however, who tapped it in for his second of the morning.

Jobson completed his hat-trick, to take his total to seven in just two pre-season games. Burrows played a short ball to him, he took a touch to create some space, span and wrapped the ball into the top corner in the 87th minute.

Just a minute later, in what proved to be the final kick of the game, Barry Milligan whipped in a superb cross into the box, which was headed home by Elliott Campbell.

Another dominant display by 7VEN in pre-season, Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Olly Burrows for picking up four assists and bossing in both the midfield and defence throughout the game. UT7.
