7VEN back to winning ways with a 7VEN-0 victory over Pot House Athletic at Brierton Sports Centre in the Premier League.

From minute one, it looked like 7VEN were the side more up for the game with a lot of chances in the early stages, but nothing that could deny the defence or the goalkeeper, who put up a great fight.

It was not until the 26th minute that 7VEN broke the deadlock and got their first goal. Olly Burrows played through Jamie Jobson, who slotted it away for his first of the game.

Two minutes later, Jobson got two as Jack Stonehouse had an initial shot saved, it fell to the 7VEN number 9, who then hit it off one post, the other and then tapped it in.

7VEN did not stop there. In the 31st minute, Harrison Smith flicked on a header into the path of Patrick Mulvey, who slotted it into the bottom right.

Four minutes after that, it was 4-0. Mulvey delivered a ball into the box, and Smith headed home over the keeper, who could only help it go into the goal.

In the 39th minute, Jobson played through Mulvey, who shot across goal into the bottom left to grab his second of the game and to make it 5-0.

That was how the scoreline remained going into the break, with 7VEN much improved from last week's 1-1 draw.

The second half was much more of the same, 7VEN enjoying much more of the possession and creating a lot, all while being compact in the midfield and defence to prevent any sign of a counterattack.

In the 53rd minute, Jobson completed his hat-trick with his best goal yet. A Stonehouse corner fell to Smith at the far post, and he set up Jobson, who curled it into the far corner from just outside of the box.

The last goal of the game came in the 64th minute. Aiden Lamb backheeled the ball to Burrows, and he placed his strike superbly into the bottom corner to cap off a fine morning for the skipper.

Lamb himself came close a couple of times but was denied by a superb save by the Pot House keeper in the 80th minute. Despite conceding seven, he had a fantastic game, and the scoreline would have been a lot more embarrassing without him.

A dominant game in all aspects, 7VEN thoroughly deserved the win. Attention now turns to County Cup action as the lads face an away trip to South Hetton CC.

Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Jamie Jobson for not just a fine hat-trick, but overall great forward play and tireless work. UT7.
