7VEN into the Round of 16 of the Durham FA County Cup thanks to a Harrison Smith brace and a Michael Connolly goal.

7VEN got off the mark virtually straight away. In the 6th minute, Olly Burrows played a defence-splitting pass through Smith, who had a simple one-on-one finish to fire the Terraces into the lead.
In the 17th minute, after protesting a foul on one of their players, the Dolphins were down to 10 men through a sin bin.
However, 7VEN failed to capitalize and the first half ended 1-0 to the home side. The Dolphin had their fair share of the chances too but nothing testing of Adam Linsel in between the sticks.
The second half produced a change of fortune as 7VEN controlled the game better and sought to put a better stamp on the scoreline.
In the 59th minute, the hard work paid off and Smith played the ball through to Connolly who buried his strike into the bottom corner.
Twenty minutes later the win was in the bag, as Connolly played in a corner which found the head of an arriving Smith who blasted in a header.
A fantastic result saw 7VEN into the last 16 of the County Cup for the first time in the club's history and are set to play Easington Lane away in the next round on Sunday.
Heatwave Tanning MOTM goes to Olly Burrows who was fantastic as part of the back three and even got an assist to make it even sweeter.
