7VEN came from two goals down against Bede Lodge to win on penalties to advance into the next round of the Durham FA County Cup.

The first half was quiet in terms of goals, with 7VEN having early chances to break the deadlock, but nothing really testing the Bede Lodge defence.

Bede also had a couple of chances, but none on target, and the scoreline remained untouched going into the second half.

That did not last for long, as it was Bede Lodge who found that first goal. The number eight's deflection sent it past Adam Linsel in the 49th minute.

In the 69th minute, it was 2-0 as Jack Weegram's heavy pass cannoned off Ollie Taylor, and it played through the Bede Lodge forward, who then only had the keeper to beat, and he slotted it away.

Despite being 2-0 down, 7VEN pushed on to get themselves back into the game, and in the 78th minute, the deficit was halved.

Patrick Mulvey played a superb ball into the box that found Harrison Smith, and the striker hit it perfectly first time, and the keeper had no chance.

7VEN kept the pressure up and had chances through Jack Stonehouse and Michael Snowdon, but none fell right, and it seemed like it wasn't going to be the Terracer's day.

However, in the 93rd minute, Snowdon crossed the ball to the back post, which found Smith, who headed it home to complete the comeback and take it to penalties.

Stonehouse stepped up first and slotted it into the bottom right; Bede Lodge's number 12 placed his into the same corner.

The skipper, Olly Burrows, put away his penalty into the bottom left, but Linsel then saved Bede Lodge's second penalty to give 7VEN the advantage.

The advantage was capitalised as Craig Altringham converted his penalty, but then the number 11 for Bede Lodge did the same.

Harvey Hope then drove his penalty into the bottom left corner, and the pressure was on for Bede Lodge to keep them in it. But number 5 dispatched it.

7VEN's hope of the next round of the County Cup fell to the goal scorer, Harrison Smith, but he stepped up and slotted it away to win the shootout.

A great game of football, and 7VEN go into the next round, Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Harrison Smith. UT7.
