Match Report: 7VEN 1-1 3 Lion

7VEN could not find a way to find three points in an evenly contested affair with 3 Lion in The Hartlepool Sunday League Premier League.
3 Lion got things away almost from kick off as Jamie Tumility burst down the left wing, came inside and scored via the near post to fire the visitors in front.
It did not take long for 7VEN to get back into the game as Anth Lee, on his debut played a perfect through ball to Harrison Smith who chipped the 3 Lion keeper to score his seventh of the season.
Jack Stonehouse was unfortunate to not put 7VEN in front as he scored direct from a freekick in the 30th minute, however, the referee blew for a retake and the second freekick was hit into the wall.
3 Lion had opportunities to go in front once again but Adam Linsel was equal to a one-on-one in the 37th minute to deny any hope.
Despite some positive substitutions throughout the second half, 7VEN could not find a way to break through the 3 Lion defence.
It was a game of a midfield battle, either side did not register many opportunities, and both defences thought valiantly to deny any clean shot of goal.
The game ended 1-1, probably the fair result after a flat second half from both teams on Breirton 3G on Sunday morning.
MOTM goes to Ollie Watt who had a fine game at centre-back, an underlooked player for the club who always puts in a positive performance. UT7.
