3 Lions advance into the next round of the cup after a thrilling 4-3 affair with 7VEN.

7VEN looked sharp from the off and controlled the game for the first 15 minutes, however, it was 3 Lions who took the lead after Lewis Green was played through and curled it past Adam Linsel in goal in the 16th minute.

In the 30th minute, 7VEN grabbed an equaliser, Olly Burrows played in Michael Connolly who found the bottom corner beautifully.

Seven minutes later Jordan Fielding hit a freekick for 3 Lions which Linsel saved spectacularly, tipping it onto the bar and out - he made another great stop from the following corner this time palming it onto the post.

After the break, 3 Lions got back in front, Trevor Gibson played a loose ball to Connor Short who rifled one into the top corner.

Some changes from 7VEN breathed new life into the game and in the 61st minute Michael Snowdon was fouled inside the area, Jack Stonehouse stepped up to take the penalty but it was saved, the rebound fell to him and this time he scored.

The away side almost doubled their lead, Stonehouse hit a freekick which was put behind for a corner, which fell to Harrison Smith who struck wide in the 66th minute.

But 7VEN did find a way in front, again through Connolly, Patrick Mulvey played a ball into Smith's feet who laid it off to Connolly who smashed it into the bottom corner to get his sixth goal in as many games since re-signing for the club.

The lead did not last for long and two minutes later, 3 Lion equalised, a ball was played across the box and put into the back of the net.

In the 79th minute, 3 Lions were awarded a penalty, Jackson Waller stepped up to take it but Linsel guessed correctly and made the save.

But four minutes the home side did find what was the winner as a corner was delivered in and headed home as they advanced into the next round of the cup.

Smith had a golden oppurtinity for an equaliser late on in the game as he was played through on goal, the keeper came out to meet him, he rushed his shot and shot wide.

Great game for the neutrals that could have went either way, Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Daley Clarke after a superb display at the back. UT7.
