Match Report: 3 Lions 3-2 7VEN FC

Despite a late comeback, 7VEN lose first game of the season against 3 Lions O'Malleys In The Hartlepool Sunday Football League Premier League.

3 Lions looked the better team from the off on Sunday morning, they had a few early corners which were, fortunately, nothing too testing of the 7VEN defence.


However, they did break the deadlock in the 18th minute, Ryan Robinson worked his way into an attacking area and squared the ball to Jamie Tumilty who scored a simple goal at the back post.


Tumilty got his second for 3 Lions in the 35th minute, the number 10 had a strike on goal which Adam Linsel saved in goal, but it fell to the 3 Lions man who had another easy finish.


After a change at the break, 7VEN looked an improved side and began to slowly grow into the game.


But 3 Lions and Tumulity had other ideas, a ball was played out to him on the right and he cut inside and curled it well into the far corner.


It took until 3-0 down for some fight from 7VEN on the day and in the 75th minute Harrison Smith made it 3-1.


Michael Snowdon crossed a perfect ball to the back post for him and the 7VEN number 10 headed home.


In the 83rd minute, 7VEN got second Smith played a long ball over the top to Jamie Jobson who took it down and drilled it in to make it 3-2.


However, it was too late for any chance of a comeback for a result in the game as 3 Lions defended their lead superbly in the remaining moments.


Poor day at the office as 7VEN couldn't continue their perfect start to the season. Heatwave Tanning MOTM was awarded to Adam Linsel who had another fine performance in net for 7VEN, despite conceding three. UT7.
